A Yard Full of Helping Hands

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” –1 Peter 4:10

Monica Macik organized a day for her small group (and all their children) to help me on September 21st 2025, to work in my yard. The kids had a Tea Party under our Weeping Mulberry Tree. I served the workers lemonade and birthday cake, celebrating my husband Don’s 81st birthday!

The children all picked their very special sipping bottles. I gave them a tour to my beehives, my herb garden (smelling rosemary & basil), vegetable garden, Asian Pear trees, and the Contorted Hazelnut Tree, etc. One young girl really wanted to try on my bee suit before leaving; she was so excited and happy to put one on!

We had to postpone the workday a couple of times due to extreme heat in the upper 90’s! Because I have been caring for Don for so long, I was very behind in my yard work. Their willingness to help helped me a great deal and was very much appreciated.
