25 Years of Children's Learning Program

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” –Psalm 127:4

I remember how excited the CLP staff was to move into the new church in 2001. We were able to tour the building before it was totally completed. As our enrollment grew, we were able to fill each classroom. We were so glad and appreciative to have a spacious gym and two new playgrounds for the children to play on during the day.

Along with the new building came a new name – Children’s Learning Program. Originally, we were called Mother’s Day Out. Our enrollment was quite small in comparison to our enrollment today. This program was founded by Patty VanGorder. She was the first director. She was followed by Carol Farney, who is our current director.

In the past 25 years, we have enriched the lives of many children. There have been several families who either did not attend church or didn’t have a church home who are now members of ZUMC!
