A Snowy Groundbreaking

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” –Isaiah 30:21

The day had finally arrived when we would have the groundbreaking ceremony for the new church. As parishioners gathered on the snow-bordered trail to walk to our new property, I was delayed finishing some things up inside the church.

When I came outside, my two youngest sons, Cody and Jory, were at the end of the processional line. I was suddenly struck by how we were all, both literally and figuratively, walking into the future of new opportunities for our place of worship.

The symbolism equally struck me that my sons, ages 15 and 10, were also continuing their walk into their futures of adolescence and adulthood. I am so grateful that their journey included the love and support of Zionsville UMC.
