Welcome

Welcome to Zionsville United Methodist Church! We are a community of people who gather in Christ’s name for worship, service, and study. Our mission is to live out the two great Commandments that Jesus gave his disciples: to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Each person in our church family is like you—full of hopes and dreams, needs and joys. We are all at various stages in our spiritual life. And that’s a good thing—the church is a place for all kinds of people, on all kinds of journeys. We aren’t all alike at Zionsville UMC, but we are united in living out our lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. And we are committed to loving and supporting one another, wherever we might be in our walk with God.

We hope this can be a place where you can find your place in God’s story!

Plan Your Visit

Service Times
We have a contemporary service at 9:30am on Sunday mornings as well as a traditional service at 11:00am. Our services typically run for 60 minutes.

Where Do I Go?
Parking is conveniently located all around the building. If you have children, you may want to enter through the West Entrance as this is closest to our ZUMKidz check-in area. If you could use a shorter walk into the main lobby, please feel free to use the front driveway to drop off your passengers. A limited amount of parking spaces are available on the circle drive at the front of the building.

Whether you enter the building from the east or west entrance, the main lobby and sanctuary are in the very center of the building. Head down the front hallway and you’ll be in the lobby in no time. Bathrooms are also located in the front hallway.

What about my Children/Youth?
Easter Note: On Easter Sunday, nursery care will be available for children new born through Pre-K. Kindergarten age and up will worship with their families.

Childcare is provided for all children from infant through preschool ages. Kindergarten-aged children & up are invited to begin the worship hour in the sanctuary. In this way, we will help all ages of our church (young and old) experience “the body of Christ” together in worship each week. Mid-way through the service, children through 5th grade are invited to join their friends in a Sunday School environment where they will study the same story from the Bible that adults and youth are learning about in the sanctuary. On the first Sunday of the month, children in 2nd-5th grade will rejoin their families in the sanctuary at the end of the service to take communion together.

We ask parents of all children to “check-in” their child inside the West Entrance (Door 2)—both those who are joining childcare and preschool classrooms, as well as those who begin their mornings in the sanctuary before going to their classroom. Each child will receive a nametag so they can be easily identified by teachers, and parents receive a corresponding tag for safe and secure pick-up following the service. Teachers of all age levels are available before the service to meet and welcome new families (so that children and parents feel comfortable and know where they are going when a child leaves the sanctuary).

If your children wish to stay with you through the whole hour of worship, that is wonderful! We love having kids in the sanctuary! We provide “activity bags” at the entrances of our sanctuary to help children stay engaged during worship. We also provide a “resource area” in our lobby where young children can play while parents watch the service via livestream. Finally, there is a room off our lobby where nursing mothers can watch the service while caring for their children.

Youth (grades 6 & up) remain in the sanctuary with their families or friends during worship. Be sure to check out our youth page to find out all the ways they can connect in friendship and discipleship at our church!

What Should I Wear?
You’re going to find a variety of dress at Zionsville UMC - everything from suits and dresses to khakis and jeans. Our desire is that you not worry about what you’re wearing…just come as you are.

The Path of Discipleship

A disciple is a follower of Jesus whose life is centered on loving God and loving others. Each person’s faith journey is a collection of multiple steps over a lifetime. Faith is not a one-and-done event but a constant, consistent, everyday practice.

Each member of our congregation makes a vow to support the church in five areas: Prayer, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness. These practices represent together a pathway that helps us grow in our relationship with God. Within each practice, we move through the stages of Exploring (trying out something new), Growing (making commitments, even small ones), and Centering (a lifestyle of devotion and trying, as much as possible, to center our lives on Jesus). It’s possible to be in the centering column of a few areas and the exploring column of others—we should always be open to exploring new ways of understanding and practicing our faith!
