Hi! I'm Pastor Linda Johnson and I am a seasonal pastor at ZUMC. I am an Indiana girl, married to my hometown sweetheart for 42 years; we have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Our family lived in Bangkok, Thailand and Johannesburg, South Africa for 9 years during the 70's and 80's. We moved back to Zionsville in 1986 and have been here ever since. I was a corporate wife and mother until I was 47, when I entered the ministry. I attended Christian Theological Seminary and received my Master of Divinity in 2000.
ZUMC has been our church home for 25 years, so I have seen it from both sides, as parishioner and now as a pastor. This is a church whose mission is truly to "lift the human spirit to be touched by the Holy Spirit".
My husband, Darryl, retired in 2002 and we are residents of Marco Island, Florida, for 7 months of the year - the cold ones! When I am in residence in Zionsville I concentrate on pastoral care, but also help out in preaching, teaching, weddings, funerals, and wherever I am needed. January 2011, I entered Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary to pursue a Doctor of Ministry degree in Spiritual Direction. Yes, even at 61 I still like to learn!
My passion is helping folks to find God in a more personal and intimate manner. I believe that Scripture speaks to each of us directly, and I believe that through the power of the Resurrection we have the answers we need to begin living a "new life" right now. If you would like to journey deeper into the Word of God in your life, I would like to help guide you on your path.
