BIBLE STUDY – ‘THE TWELVE STEPS’

SUNDAY OPPORTUNITY HOUR 10:10 AM

Leader: Pastor Linda Johnson
July 13- September 28, 2008

There are important moments in life that can bring about changes in our very destiny. These are often times when we are confronted with how powerless we really are over our own lives. These moments can either destroy us or forever set the course of our lives in a better direction. When we come face to face with who or what controls us we are given a choice. We can continue in denial and self-righteousness, or we can face the fact that we have been blind to some important issues. When we become willing to be led by the tried and true method that is called the ‘Twelve Steps’, we discover the One Who is our TRUE POWER source. The purpose of this ‘Twelve Step’ Bible study is to invite us to enter into the process of becoming more like Christ and to increase our fellowship with God. We do this by becoming open and transparent with God, through studying and sharing the scriptures: His Word of hope; our goal is allowing the Lord to remove the walls that would try and separate us, not only from God, but from ourselves and others as well
Pastor Linda says, “Every Christian should consider him/herself in ‘recovery’ from our natural state of Sin. This group is open to anyone who wishes to do some in-depth Bible study based around the model of the ‘Twelve Steps’ ”. The group will meet for 12 weeks in room C-112 on Sunday mornings at the ‘Opportunity Hour’, 10:10 AM. Bring a Bible or one will be provided, along with all other study materials.
