Senior Adult Ministry: February 26th is not that far away to joinon their first 2009 house trip. SAM will visit four of Zionsville's sister churches.will meet at ZUMC9:15AM and leave by 9:30AM. Our fist stop will be The Lutheran Church on Ford Road and then St Francis' on Whitetown Road. We will return to ZUMC for our catered lunch at 11:30AM and then on to St Al's and Traders Point.for lunch$10.00. Call Patreservations, 317-858-3262.! all SAM events are open to our church family.

Annual Easter party 

Annual Easter party at for thefamilies at thePlace will be held on Wednesday, April 8, from 6-7:30.The Coburn Place is a domestic violence shelter for women and children. It isIndianapolis.
Easter bags (to serve as baskets) will be decorated by our Sunday School children.We need hosts and hostesses to attend the party and help with crafts, games and snacks and also cookie bakers, to bake sugar cookies a couple of days before the party.If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Debbi Kuller at 733-1777. VBS is Coming! 

VBS is Coming! Could it be? Yes, it could. Something's coming, something good, If I can wait! Something's coming, I don't know what it is, But it is Gonna be great! This year's VBS is going to be Extreme and Edgy. Anyone who is volunteering in any capacity should attend the kick off meeting on March 10th at 7:00 pm in the chapel. Benefit Brookside Youth Center 

Concert to Benefit Brookside Youth Center

Every day more than 120 children aged 6 to 16 find safe haven from the violence, drugs, and crime that are the ever-present reality of their near-eastside Indianapolis community.haven is theCommunity Youth Center, a place where they know they willrecreation, help with schoolwork,in drug and alcohol prevention,to computers, a meal (perhaps the only one of the day),loving mentors.behalf of the Brookside Center, the University of Indianapolis piano faculty ensemble, Molto Piano, will be presenting a benefit concert at ZUMC on Saturday, February 28, 7:00 pm.There will be no admission charge, but all gifts will be given to the center.We hope you will come to enjoy the music and share, as you can, of your resources to help Brookside keep their doors open.The program features works written for two and three pianists at two pianos by Schubert, Milhaud, Debussy, Grainger, and a jazz inspired work by Bergmann.Please join us in support of Brookside and the invaluable mission they provide to some of Indianapolis's most at-risk youth. Spring Break Mission Trip 

Spring Break Hurricane Relief Mission Trip
to Texas! Sat., March 28 – Sat., April 4, 2009 * Cost: $135.00 *
Payment due March 1st. Hurricane Ike (and Hurricane Rita 3 yrs before) devastated the coast of Texas. Homes and hearts need rebuilding. Use your Spring Break to make a difference! Families are welcome, but options are limited for younger children. Youth 7th grade – 12th grade may participate without a parent. Please contact Jeanne Chapman for more information or sign up at the table in the east hall. Mandatory training and informational meeting will be held in March!

Ash Wednesday 

Ash Wednesday is Wednesday, February 25. ZUMC will offer two services; one at 7 AM and one at 7 PM. Each will last approximately 30 minutes so that people may get to school and work. Please attend the service of your choice.

Interested in going to Alaska? 

Interested in going to Alaska?
Anyone interested in going to Alaska with the work team in July should come to a meeting on February 11th at 6:30 pm.At this time we will answer all your questions regarding the trip, costs, etc.For more information, contact either Mike Voigt (mvoigt@zumc.org or Tony Doepken at tdoepken@yahoo.com. The team is scheduled to do both interior work on the church and some will be doing Bible School for the children.We plan to leave Indianapolis July 11th.

Meet ZUMC’s New Stephen Minister Leader. Geri Rogers!  

Geri attended Stephen Leader training conference in August of last year and recently completed the 50 hours of Stephen Ministry training here at ZUMC.Geri brings a heart-filled commitment to service as a Stephen Leader and a history of caring for others. Geri lives in Zionsville with her husband of 36 years, Dave Rogers. She is the mother of two grown children, Jeff and Erin, and grandmother to Tyler Jeffrey (2 years) and Christian David Rogers (1 year).
Geri and Dave joined ZUMC in the spring of 2006 and served on the mission team’s trip to Alaska that July. Both Dave and Geri have volunteered for the Habitat for Humanity Apostle’s Build, and for Interfaith Hospitality Network. Some Sundays you can find them at the Welcome Center. Geri recently retired from United Way of Central Indiana where she served as the
Boone County Coordinator for Youth as Resources of Central Indiana (YARCI). When not volunteering, Geri likes to cook and bake, spend time with her family and friends, travel, and spend time walking or reading on the beach in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. She looks forward to serving Zionsville United Methodist Church in her new role as a Stephen Leader.
