Our Mission - Work in partnership with God’s people from all over Boone County to assist families in need of adequate, affordable housing. We build houses so that all people can experience home ownership & God’s love through our HFH and from our many community volunteers & partners throughout Boone County.
HOW TO HELP: Through volunteers’ labor and donations of money & materials, Habitat builds simple affordable homes. Check out the Habitat schedule to see when you might be able to help.
INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK
The mission statement of Indianapolis Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is to reduce homelessness in the Indianapolis community by assisting our guests in gaining skills to sustain their own housing. As a church, we give up to 14 people housing and food for 7 days. The guests stay at the Day center on the campus of St. Rita's from about 7:30 am until 4:30 pm. While there, they are looking for housing, learning about budgeting, and looking for jobs. We bring guests to the church in the interfaith van at about 5:30 pm. they eat dinner, pack lunches, do homework, play, and then spend the night.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: We need volunteers to provide meals, transportation, host play/craft time, and then spend the night. It takes about 60 volunteers to cover the week.

Robert’s Park is a United Methodist Church in the heart of downtown Indianapolis that serves meals to the homeless. ZUMC partners with them 4-6 times a year, preparing sack lunches and serving a hot meal to 200+ homeless men, women and children.

FLETCHER PLACE
Our Mission: Breaking the cycle of poverty through the compassion of Jesus Christ
Faith based mission, with roots in the United Methodist Tradition, serving the southeast side of Indianapolis. Our goal is to build relationships in the community we serve, to build people up, to provide opportunities to build skills and achieve dreams. We provide over 65,000 meals a year through our hot meal program and groceries provided to families. www.fletcherplacecc.org
God's Breakfast is prepared and served by ZUMC volunteers the first Thursday and Friday of each month at Fletcher Place Community Center. This mission is funded solely by your donations. The group feeds 100 or more individuals and families as a practical expression of Christian love. This team is always looking for fresh faces to help serve those in need of a warm meal.

Can Drive: In November groceries are collected for the food pantry & new items (from clothing, games, books, stocking stuffers and home goods) are collected for all family members as Christmas gifts. These items are sorted at the church, and then taken to Fletcher Place; volunteers are needed. Watch the Messenger and bulletin for additional details.
COBURN PLACE
Coburn Place is a safe place for many women and their children in the greater Indianapolis area. During the Easter holiday a group of women assemble and take baskets to the women and children. You too can be a part of this special day!
ANGEL TREE
Since 1982, Angel Tree has partnered with churches like ours and other volunteers around the country to minister to the children of prisoners and their families. It may seem like a small act of charity to give a prisoner’s child a gift at Christmas, but it is not! Such seemingly small acts of kindness are often a powerful channel of God’s love. This team is always looking for helpers in delivery of the gifts.

This is ZUMC’s annual backpack and uniform drive. Brightwood and Crooked Creek Community Centers of Indianapolis gladly receive all ZUMC donations. Be a part of allowing a student to have a head start to learning with the much needed supplies! In July & August, backpacks, school supplies, underwear and socks are collected to distribute to children in need. Give them
a boost to start their school year!

LOVE IN THE NAME OF CHRIST (Love INC) Love INC serves Boone County residents as a clearinghouse, matching the needs of families and individuals with resources available from churches, local agencies, and volunteers. ZUMC partners with Love INC volunteers from area churches ready to assist clients with services like auto repair, child care, clothing, counseling, home repairs, groceries, furnishings, job search assistence, etc. Providing various services for a short period of time helps clients to conserve finances and afford necessities such as rent and utilities.

Tom Heaton is our missionary in Guatemala. At “La Mission” we have partnered to establish a medical clinic and feeding program for children. More plans are in the works. ZUMC has a work team planned for fall of 2011. We can often use donations of supplies, funds, and of course, your presence in that beautiful but poor land.
Tom is a United Methodist Pastor from the Indiana Conference and formed Mission Guatemala in the Spring of 2009. It is a United Methodist ministry that operates a medical clinic, a pre-school feeding program, and as of June 23, 2011, a dental office. ZUMC has plans for mission trips, so stayed tuned. HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Donate clean, gently used or new children's clothing in the bins at the east & west end entrances of the church by the mission tables. Volunteers sort donations, wash clothing if needed, fill orders, and staff the "Kloset" when families occasionally come in to pick out the clothing.

DECEMBER’S CHILD
December’s Child ministry offers us the opportunity to help those who need some warmth in the winter months by providing coats. ZUMC works in cooperation with Zionsville Community Schools to identify and connect with children who need winter clothing. A small team of caring volunteers quietly provides these coats and jackets to express Christ's love in a tangible way.
UNITED METHODIST CHILDREN’S HOME 
Help make a positive difference in the lives of children.
Youth placed in the Home's care are placed through the Indiana Dept. of Child Services, Indiana Dept. of Education, or through the county juvenile court system. Private placements are considered when a concerned parent, clergy member, guidance counselor, or mental health professional contacts the Home on behalf of a child and/ or family.
Children come from all over the state with many different backgrounds, but have one thing in common; they need help dealing with their emotional problems. Counseling, education, religious education, group living, and recreation form the residential treatment program.
The Indiana United Methodist Children's Home is licensed by the Indiana Dept. of Child Services to serve children ages 6 to 18 and is one of the newer mission areas to which ZUMC has made commitment.

NATIONAL
REDBIRD MISSION
Redbird Missions has provided ministries in this region of the Appalachian Mountains since 1921. Today the need remains critical in this isolated, rural distressed area. Chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and rugged mountainous terrain provide obstacles to a fuller life for the residents of this area. Red Bird Mission strives to meet these needs through ministry in five areas: Education, Health and Wellness, Community Outreach, Economic Opportunity, and Community Housing Improvement
GLOBAL
New Life Water Purifiers from Southern Indiana is a non-profit organization based in Underwood. They have sent water purifiers to more than 600 countries. They started distributing the purifiers in 2000. In Third World countries, 80-90% of sick people have an underlying waterborne ailment.
Several times a year a team of volunteers travel to Underwood, IN to build water purifiers with New Life International. These purifiers are used in disaster relief areas, third world countries, and anywhere else that clean water is not available.

It is not cheap to build and distribute these purifiers. A basic kit costs about $1000 to produce, but with transportation & training included, a single purifier can cost about $3500, relying primarily on sponsors for funding. Look for news on work days in Southern Indiana sponsored by the ZUMC Mens Ministry Group.
CROP WALK churchworldservice.org We invite you to join our network of local & global caring through participation in CROP Hunger Walks. Take a 3 mile walk to help end hunger at 2:00 on Sunday, October 21, on the Zionsville Rail Trail. Participants raise funds by getting friends and neighbors to sponsor them for each mile they walk.
